Do Not Get Fooled By Workers' Comp Claims Adjusters

Remember, when you get hurt on the job and are dealing with a workers' compensation claims adjuster, they are working for the insurance company and are not going to help you get everything you are entitled to. It is best to consult a lawyer that is familiar with the comp system.

As a workers' compensation attorney in New Jersey, I have seen many examples of injured workers loosing out on benefits because they failed to seek the advice of an attorney. Compensation claims adjusters work for the insurance company, not the injured worker and they are not prepared to be an advocate for aggressive care or to maximize benefits or recovery.

Workers' comp benefits in New Jersey consist of medical treatment, payment of temporary disability and permanent disability. When it comes to treatment, the job controls what doctors the worker is allowed to see. If a company doctor cuts off treatment prematurely, the only option is to get a second medical opinion and fight the company doctor's decision in Court. Many, many workers fail to get the treatment they need because they do not take the battle to Court.

It does not cost anything out of pocket to speak with or hire a workers' compensation attorney so there is no risk.
